Kendal United progressed into the semi-finals of the Westmorland FA Senior Challenge Cup following a dramatic 2-1 victory against Windermere at Castle Drive.

Windermere who play their trade in Westmorland League Division One created plenty of opportunities before opening the scoring midway through the second half.

However Kendal battled back before Danny Craig headed the ball into the net from close range and despite Windermere creating further opportunities Nick Crieries stunning strike from 25 yards edged Kendal United to victory.

In James Cropper Westmorland League Division One, Endmoor slumped to the bottom of the table after losing 3-1 to Shap at Woodside Road.

Shap who continued their resurgence edged three points clear from danger after Sam Woods brace and a goal by Ben Palmer.

Endmoor who played their first game for seven weeks scored through Aiden Dent, in the other games Ibis defeated second placed Appleby 3-2 at The Jubilee Playing Fields.

Ibis were 1-0 up at half time when Robbie Ingham scored, before Appleby battled back in dramatic fashion during an action packed second half after the visitors went 2-1 up.

However Ibis showed great spirit and equalised through Chris Ellwood before Cory Robinson sealed a stunning victory for the hosts with a well taken goal in the closing stages of the game.

Castletown United continued their impressive season with an emphatic 4-1 victory against Sedbergh Wanderers, Sean Elliot scored twice, before goals by Lamin Cham and Liam Robson sealed an important win for the hosts who go third in the table.

In Division Two Keswick Reserves remained top on goal difference after being held to a 1-1 draw at Afc Carlisle, second placed Dent lost 3-0 to an impressive Kendal County Reserve team. Kendal who remained in contention for promotion played well before goals by Mitchell Bennett, Darren Huck and Tyler Colloby sealed the points for the visitors.

Windermere Reserves defeated Kendal United Reserves 3-1, Ambleside United edged out Ibis Reserves 2-1,while Greystoke defeated Eden Thistle 2-1.

In the Junior Cup Appleby Reserves progressed into the semi finals following a 2-0 win at Kirkby Stephen.

Penrith Academy and Kirkoswald Reserves are level on points at the top of Division Three after both teams picked up respective 3-1 victories against Langwathby United and Burneside.

Dan Monk’s hat trick edged Staveley United Reserves to a 3-2 victory over Endmoor KGR Reserves. Monks who has now scored 11 in 3 games continued to impress for the hosts.

Ullswater United defeated Penrith Royal 3-1 while Wetherigg United Reserves routed Penrith Saints 4-0.
