12-year-old boy shot while lying in bed during party at Little Rock hotel

According to a Little Rock police report, a 12-year-old boy was shot while lying in bed during a party at a Residence Inn in Little Rock.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — According to a Little Rock police report, a 12-year-old boy was shot while lying in bed during a party at a Residence Inn in Little Rock.

Police responded to the hotel on Shackleford Road around 2 a.m. Sunday, July 19 in regards to a shooting. A few witnesses told police that during a party in one of the hotel rooms, someone shot through a window and hit a 12-year-old boy in the shoulder while he was lying in bed. 

The 12-year-old victim was taken to a nearby hospital.

When officers arrived at the hotel, police say multiple people ran from the hotel into the woods. When police searched the room where the party was held they found a bullet and a spent casing.

Detectives interviewed three women involved in the party and later released them. Officers then detained one man found running from the scene on Kanis Road, pending further investigation.
