THIRTY-FIVE people took part in a pilgrimage to a church near Bassenthwaite - arriving by foot, bike, car, bus and sail board!
They set off from various venues, including Cockermouth and Keswick, and met at St Bega's Church on the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake, where a service was held.
Stan Leigh said: "The event reflects the commitment to Live Simply, a CAFOD campaign encouraging us to live simply, sustainably and in solidarity with the poor.
"Thirty-five people attended by walking, cycling, bus, car, mainly from Cockermouth and Keswick - one attended by sail boarding across the lake."
Johnnie and Sallie Morris, members of the Churches Together Walking Group were married in St Bega's Church on September 19, 1970, and attended the service as part of their 49th anniversary celebrations.
