UPDATE: Athens, Tennessee, police state no 'dangerous device' found at Lowe's

UPDATE: No dangerous devices were discovered, according to Athens police. The scene has been released back to Lowe's.

Law enforcement officials in Athens, Tennessee, are investigating a bomb threat at the Lowe's Home Improvement store on Congress Parkway.

The most recent update from the Athens Police Department just after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday states that bomb techs from the Cleveland Police Department bomb squad have not found a device but that officers are taking the threat seriously.

Residents are urged to avoid the area as the Athens police and fire departments investigate, according to a post on Facebook.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 911.
