Offline banking facilities will not be available for three days in the current week as there is a bank holiday and all commercial banks such as SBI, PNB, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank are closed in Delhi, Mumbai.

New Delhi: Offline banking facilities will not be available for three days in the current week as all the Scheduled Commercial Banks including SBI (State Bank of India), PNB (Punjab National Bank), HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank are closed in some parts of the country including suburbs of New Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad. The three-day bank holiday is not in continuation as today, 22 November 2018, is a working day for banks. Tomorrow, 23 November 2018, there will be a bank holiday on account of Guru Purab (Guru Nanak Jayanti).

Banks are closed on account of national holidays such as Eid-e-Milad-ul-Nabi on Wednesday, 21 November, Prophet Muhammad’s birthday, and Guru Nanak Jayanti (Guru Purab) on Friday, 23 November. Offline banking services are available on Thursday, 22 November as there is not bank holiday today. However, Saturday, 24 November will be a nationwide bank holiday as it is the fourth Saturday of November month.

According to a TOI report, in New Delhi, Mumbai (along with rest of Maharashtra), Hyderabad, Raipur, Ranchi, Dehradun, Jammu, Srinagar, Kanpur and Lucknow, banks are closed for three days -- 21 November (Eid-e-Milad-ul-Nabi), 23 November (Guru Nanak Jayanti), 24 November (fourth Saturday).

In state capitals including Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Bengaluru (Karnataka), Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) Chennai (Tamil Nadu), banks are closed for two days, i.e, Wednesday, 21 November (Eid-e-Milad-ul-Nabi) and Saturday, 24 November (fourth Saturday), TOI reported. While in other capital cities such a Chandigarh, Guwahati, Jaipur, Kolkata, Shillong, Shimla, banks are closed on 23 November (Guru Nanak Jayanti) and 24 November (fourth Saturday), the report added.

Bank holiday, in Kerala, for Eid-e-Milad-ul-Nabi was marked on 20 November and there will be no bank holiday on the state on account of Guru Purab (Guru Nanak Jayanti), however, there will be a bank holiday on 24 November as it is the fourth Saturday of the month. In most of the eastern capital cities including Agartala, Aizawl, Bhubaneswar, Gangtok, Imphal, Patna (including rest of Bihar) and Goa, there will be a bank holiday on 24 November (fourth Saturday) only, TOI reported.
