New Delhi: Giving a bonanza to the people of the state, the Haryana government has started a bus service between Faridabad and Kotdwar in Uttarakhand. A bus was flagged off by the Haryana transport minister Krishna Lal Panwar in the presence of Uttarakhand MP Anil Baluni. The bus was flagged off from Faridabad to Kotdwar on July 18.

Panwar said that the Haryana Roadways bus will ply from Faridabad to Kotdwar every day and will start at 6.45 p.m. He further said that this bus route is 294 km long. He further announced that the transport department has also applied for a permit to start the bus service between Faridabad and Ramnagar. He expressed hope that soon the bus service of Haryana Roadways will also be started for Ramnagar.

Panwar further informed that state government, under the leadership of CM Manohar Lal, has given 50 per cent exemption in fare to the senior citizens(women above 60 years, men above 65 years) in the state transport buses.

It is worth mentioning that the government recently floated a proposal to bring Delhi Metro's Blue Line to Gurgaon days after it announced an extension of the Yellow Line to the city with 25 new stations. The government plans to approach Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and ask them to extend the Blue Line till Bijwasan (on the border), which can then be linked to Gurgaon metro (the Yellow Line extension) in Sector 23.

The government also recently approved the high-speed rain link between Delhi and Rajasthan via Gurugram. It gave the go-ahead for the rail network starting from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi reaching to Haryana-Rajasthan border near Shahjahanpur-Neemrana-Behror (SNB).

This rail network comes under the regional rapid transit system (RRTS) projects. The state government has made changes to the route however due to land acquisition issues. Because of these changes, the land requirement which was earlier 350 hectares will decrease to only 25 hectares.

The railway track will move underground past Kharki Daula and would emerge above the ground at IMT Manesar. The rail alignment will move along the highway up to Dharuhera, Rewari, Bawal and will then enter Rajasthan.
