Indian Railways: Agartala Rajdhani Express gets free WiFi service
The Agartala Rajdhani Express recently got free wifi facility which allows passengers to access free audio, video and other entertaining content online for free on the moving train.

New Delhi: The Agartala Rajdhani Express (train no, 20501/02) got free wifi facility. Passengers will be able to enjoy audio, video and other entertaining content on moving train for free. Coaching Depot Agartala Twitter account which is the official account of Coach maintenance Depot, Agartala tweeted about the development.
Railway minister Piyush Goyal retweeted the tweet which stated, "We are happy to launch free wifi on go facility in 20501/02 Agartala Rajdhani Express. Passengers will be able to enjoy various kind of audio, video & entertaining contents on the moving train."
It may be noted that Howrah-Delhi Rajadhani Express was the first train in India to get the wifi facility. Tejas Express, Golden Chariot, Duranto and Gatiman Express also have free wifi facility. The central government has planned to extend the free wifi facility to other trains like Shatabdi.
Worth mentioning here is that according to a HT report this month, Railways has planned to revamp 2,000 old railway coaches at a cost of Rs 600 crore. The upgrade will include charging points and tray-tables at all seats, new and better seat covers, new taps and mirrors in toilets, new fans and more. The coaches will be refurbished as per the requirement. More than 40,000 coaches will be revamped in the coming years.

The railways also launched a special tourist train called Shri Ramayana Express on November 14. The train will cover important destinations associated with the life of Lord Ram as mentioned in Ramayana in a period of 16-days. The tour package will cover all meals, accommodation and wash and change facilities, all transfers, sight-seeing arrangements etc.
