Bhopal Uttar Assembly Election Result 2018: Congress' Arif Aqueel defeats BJP's Fatima Rasool Siddaki

In the 2013 elections, Arif Aqueel of the Congress won from Bhopal Uttar by a margin of 6,664 votes, defeating BJP's Arif Baig. This time the BJP has fielded Fatima Rasool Siddaki.

The results of the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections will be declared on December 11. 

Bhopal: The counting of votes began in Madhya Pradesh on 11 December at 8:00 AM. Congress's Arif Aqueel defeats BJP's Fatima Rasool Siddaki by 34857 votes.

Party workers of the BJP, BSP, GGP and the Congress assembled at the counting centre.  Bhopal Uttar Assembly constituency is a part of the city of Bhopal. It covers the entire Bhopal district and part of Sehore district. The election for the Bhopal Uttar constituency was held on November 28. 

In the 2013 Assembly elections, Arif Aqueel of the Congress won from Bhopal Uttar by a margin of 6,664 votes, defeating the BJP's Arif Baig. This time the BJP fielded Fatima Rasool Siddaki against Aqueel, the sitting Congress MLA. The constituency saw a voter turnout of 65.87 percent.

The major industries in the old city are electrical goods, pharmaceuticals, cotton, chemicals, and jewelry. Other industries include cotton and flour milling, cloth weaving and painting, as well as manufacture of matches, sealing wax and sporting equipment.

Madhya Pradesh’s 230 constituencies went to polls on November 28. Shivraj Singh Chouhan of the BJP is aiming to become chief minister for the fourth time. Counting of votes will take place on December 11.
