Uri: The Surgical Strike, by all means, is a winner at the box-office. The war film, starring Vicky Kaushal as the main man, is witnessing a never-seen-before trend. On its sixth Wednesday, the film added Rs 1 crore more to its kitty to reach a staggering figure of Rs 229.77 crore after a 41-day run in cinemas.

As per film trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film will gather momentum over its seventh weekend, a clear indication that it may even touch the Rs 240 crore-mark. Mr Adarsh summed up the film’s business in the tweet below:

Uri: The Surgical Strike is now almost Rs 2 crore short of surpassing the lifetime collection of Kick (Rs 231.85 crore), Salman Khan’s Eid release of 2014. The two films have something very interesting in common. The directors of Uri: The Surgical Strike (Aditya Dhar) and Kick (Sajid Nadiadwala) hit a double century at the box-office with their debut film itself.

Uri: The Surgical Strike is based on the September 2016 Surgical Strikes conducted by the Indian Army against the terror launchpads in Pakistan, in retaliation to a terrorist attack on an Army camp in Jammu & Kashmir’s Uri earlier that month. The film also features Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal, Mohit Raina, Kirti Kulhari and Rajit Kapur in pivotal roles.

Uri: The Surgical Strike hit the screens on January 11 and received mixed response from movie critics. But the word of mouth was very much in the film’s favour that made it the box-office blockbuster that it is.
