Over the years Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has made a number of questionable comments that has resulted in outrage against the actor. Be it his ‘raped woman ’ comment about prepping for his character in Sultan or others, Salman has often come under scrutiny. Now again, the actor’s unfiltered sense of humour has made headlines. Recently, the 53-year-old superstar was at an event promoting his upcoming film Notebook, through which he is set to Zaheer Iqbal and Pranutan Bahl.

During the event, Salman was asked that would an old school love story like Notebook connect with the new-age audience who are hooked on dating websites like Tinder. During the same conversation, Salman also learned that actress Priyanka Chopra has launched a dating website called Bumble. To which Salman reacted with the following statement (as reported by SpotBoyE): “Isn’t she married? Why does she need that now?”

His comment has since made headlines and several social commentators have criticised his statement. Some even questioned that fact that would Salman be asking the same questions if it was a male actor investing in a dating app. While some are denoting it as a patriachal comment others speculate if this is Salman Khan’s way of getting back at PeeCee for leaving his upcoming project at the last minute.

For those unaware, Priyanka Chopra was set to star in Salman Khan’s upcoming film Bharat, which is being directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. However, PeeCee had walked out of the project at the last minute and the reason given was that the schedule would have coincided with her marriage plans with American singer and songwriter Nick Jonas.

Priyanka was eventually replaced by Katrina Kaif in the film. While there were rumours and reports for months that Priyanka’s sudden exit from the film had Salman Khan furious. But those rumours were put to rest when Salman attended PeeCee’s wedding reception party in Mumbai in December last year.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas had quite the fairytale wedding in December last year. The two got married on December 1 and 2 in a Christian and in a Hindu wedding ceremony with close family and friends in attendance. Following that, the couple hosted a series of wedding reception parties in Delhi and then in Mumbai. In fact, their wedding reception in Delhi was attended by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while we saw the who’s who of Bollywood in attendance at their Mumbai wedding reception.
