Abhishek Bachchan reveals why Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Big B, Aishwarya Rai served food at Isha's wedding

Abhishek Bachchan on Saturday revealed why Bollywood biggies including Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek himself served food to guests at Isha Ambani's wedding.

Indian power couple, Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal, tied the knot on December 12 and their pre-wedding festivities, wedding ceremonies and star-studded reception parties was all the internet could talk about in the past few days. While photographs and videos from their pre-wedding bashes in Udaipur had already taken over the internet, fresh photos from the wedding featuring the Bollywood biggies later took the web by storm. 

In the photos that surfaced later, the entire Bollywood brigade including Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan were seen serving food to the guests. While the wedding guests were seated at the dining tables, the Bollywood superstars were photographed serving them one dish after another. 

The photos and videos went viral within no time inviting a mixed reaction from the internet. While some trolled the celebrities, others praised them for their kind gestures. A few others were in shock as to why the celebrities were serving food. To put all jokes and questions to rest, Abhishek Bachchan took to social media and answered a user who had asked: “Why were Amir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan serving food in Ambani wedding?”. In his response, Abhishek shared that it was part of a Gujarati tradition wherein the bride's family was to feed the groom's family. “It is a tradition called "sajjan ghot". The brides family feeds the grooms family,” read his tweet. If Isha's wedding stirred up a storm of sorts on social media so did her pre-wedding festivities wherein the who's who of Bollywood had performed and even Beyonce had arrived in India just to perform at the bash.
