A year after the sudden demise of legendary actress Sridevi, her husband Boney Kapoor has decided to auction her saris for a charitable cause - here are all the details

As hard as it may be to believe, this Sunday marks the one year death anniversary of Bollywood's Chandni, Sridevi. The diva was in Abu Dhabi to attend the wedding of her nephew, Mohit Marwah along with the entire Kapoor clan. The Kapoor family held a special puja at the heroine's Chennai home and as the tithi, Sridevi's death anniversary was on February 14. Almost a year later, Sridevi's husband, Boney Kapoor is set to honour his wife by auctioning her kota sari online for a charitable cause. 

Being auctioned on Parisera, the bid begins at Rs 40,000 and has mad Rs 1,25,000 until now. Describing the sari, the official website writes, "Sridevi's style have evolved since her early days in the film industry. But, the six yards has been a constant reminder of her roots. Being born in a South-Indian household, the actress has worn saris as a badge of her identity and has always infused a sense of unique charisma into its pleats."

The proceeding of this auction will go to Concern India Foundation that programmes for the benefit of women, children, the differently -abled, the underprivileged and the elderly and works in the field of education.

Apart from her on-screen versatility, Sridevi made her mark as a fashion icon with her wide range of saris. From the stunning blue sari in Mr India to the gorgeous yellow sari in Chandni, the world continues to look up to her. Died due to accidental drowning, Sridevi's ashes were flown into Tamil Nadu that were immersed from the coast of Rameshwaram.
