Ahmedabad: Incessant rainfall in the last few days has led to a flood-like situation in Gujarat. Heavy downpour in Rajkot region had led to vast scale damage in the area. A video has surfaced in which cattle are seen being washed away at Khijadiya Mota village in Paddhari area, Rajkot.

A video shared by ANI, shows animals that appear to be buffaloes, getting washed away in fast-flowing waters.

Due to very heavy downpour in the Saurashtra part, flood-like situation has arisen in the Kutch region. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast more rain for the next two days.

Due to heavy downpour, a nearly 30-year-old bridge over a river in Junagadh district caved in. Fortunately, no one was injured. Gujarat’s Gir Somnath, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Junagadh and Amreli have received heavy rainfall.

The IMD in its latest bulletin said that under the influence of the ‘well marked low pressure area’ over Saurashtra and the nearby areas, widespread rainfall is likely over Gujarat today and it would decrease significantly thereafter. However, Saurashtra and Kutch regions are expected to receive isolated heavy to extremely heavy rainfall.

"Under the influence of low pressure area over Kutch ane neighbourhood, widespread rainfall activity likely over Gujarat State during next 3 days and decrease thereafter. Isolated heavy to very falls with extremely heavy falls very likely over Saurashtra & Kutch during next 2 days and isolated heavy to very heavy falls thereafter. Isolated heavy to very heavy falls also very likely over Gujarat region during next 2-3 days," IMD had earlier said.
