Karnataka quarantine protocol for arrival into Bengaluru or any other part of state

Since the Centre has allowed flights within the country to operate, some states have raised a flag over the move. The states are, however, allowed to create their own quarantine rules for arriving passengers.

The Indian government is opening up airspace for domestic travellers after almost a two-month gap. As airlines are beginning flight services within the country, there are also a number of rules that the passengers are to follow. The rules pertain not only to the flight and airport premises but also to the different states that they may board from and/or land in to.

States like Maharashtra and West Bengal have conveyed to the Centre their apprehensions over the resumption of flight services. The Centre, on its part, has told the states across India to deploy their own set of protocols for isolation or quarantining of flyers as per their specific situations.

In keeping with that several states such as Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Assam, and Union Territories such as Jammu and Kashmir have announced their respective quarantining measures for the arrivals into their states.

If you were looking forward to flying into Bangalore or any place within Karnataka, here are the rules of the state.

Karnataka Police have said that "Incoming domestic flight passengers from (states with “high prevalence” of Covid-19 such as) Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Delhi, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh will undergo 7-day institutional quarantine, followed by home quarantine.”

  • Institutional Quarantine: 7 days
  • Test negative, then go home for 14-days quarantine
  • Test positive, then get sent to isolation wards or COVID-19 treatment hospitals

    Exemptions: Businessmen arriving on urgent work who furnish test results not more than two days old.
