Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Saturday said his party, the National People's Party (NPP), has unanimously decided to oppose the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016. NPP passed a resolution in the regard, threatening to snap ties with the NDA if the Bill is passed in Rajya Sabha.
"NPP has also decided if the Bill is passed in Rajya Sabha, the party will break its ties with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). This decision was taken today at the general body meeting," he was quoted by the news agency ANI as saying.
