Pakistan-bound aircraft makes unscheduled landing in Jaipur after pilot gets ‘open door’ warning

A Jaipur airport official said there was only cockpit crew in the aircraft and the state Intelligence Bureau has been informed about the development.

Jaipur: A Pakistan-bound aircraft made a priority landing at the airport here on Tuesday, after the pilot noticed the “indication of open door” go on. News agency ANI reported that the Pakistan-bound Cessna aircraft had taken off in the morning from Lucknow and was bound for the port city of Karachi. The pilot got the open door indication when the aircraft was in the airspace over Rajasthan.

A Jaipur airport official said there was only cockpit crew in the aircraft. The state Intelligence Bureau has been informed about the development, the official added.

According to airport officials, the pilot of the Karachi-bound SR-20 aircraft sent an alert to the Jaipur Airport Air Traffic Control (ATC) saying his he was getting an indication of 'door open' and sought permission for priority landing as a precautionary measure.

The ATC clearance was granted and the plane made a safe landing. The state Intelligence Bureau and aviation securities agency were briefed about the incident as per standard operating procedure.

The aircraft was allowed to proceed towards Karachi following an inspection by the airport team and security agencies.
