Faridabad: In a shocking case reported from Dayal Bagh Colony of Faridabad, in past eight months all the members of the Mathew family have died, due to different reasons. According to a report in the Indian Express, friends and neighbours of the Mathews mentioned that after 32-year-old Sanju Mathew met with an accident which left him paralysed, was the turning point for the family.

Eight months later, all of them were dead- three of them succumbed to different illnesses within a span of five months and four of them chose to hang themselves, three weeks later. The Mathew family was residing in Faridabad for the past 20 years, yet they had few friends. The family members included JJ Mathews, his wife Agnes and their five children- Meena, Beena, Jaya, Pradeep and Sanju.

Neighbours claimed that only the youngest sibling 'Sanju' mingled and stayed with affection with everyone. Reportedly, rest of the family was very quiet and kept entirely to themselves. Bimla, 60-year-old resident of the staff quarters told the Indian Express, "That was quite unusual because the community here is fairly close-knit. But none of us tried to force them to interact. They wanted to be left alone, and we respected that.”

Meanwhile, other residents of the colony mentioned unusual circumstances surrounding the family. None of the five children had a stable job nor they ever showed interest towards getting married. Amidst the family on Jaya had a proper job, at a private school where she would earn Rs 13,000 a month. But after Sanju's accident, she also left her job.

After JJ retired 10 years ago, his wife left the job in January this year. Following Sanju's accident the family lost all their savings and meanwhile, the eldest daughter Meena also developed kidney problems and required dialysis. Reportedly, after Agnes died, the five Mathew siblings became much more reserved. After which youngest sibling Sanju succumbed to infection at a hospital. Although his friends approached the rest of the family members in case they need any help but none of the Mathew siblings asked for anything.

Shockingly, on October 20, neighbours saw blood seeping out from beneath the Mathew residence and police rushed the spot. The four siblings, Meena, Beena, Jaya and Pradeep committed suicide by hanging themselves from the ceiling fans. A suicide note was recovered from the spot revealed, that they took this extreme step after the death of their three family members.

However, Bimla Indian Express that she was not surprised, the family members were excessively involved in each other. Even the residents used to think that they cannot live without each other and that is what happened.
