Indore: A couple from Madhya Pradesh proved their love for each other by tying the knot on the occasion of Valentine's Day. Identified as one Junaid Khan, the boy decided to marry the love of his life, Jaya Singh Parmar, despite stiff opposition from his parents.

The only difference between this couple and countless others who stand up for the love of their choice is that Junaid's better half is a transgender. Going by reports, the happy couple marked their union by getting married as per Hindu traditions at a temple on February 14 and will get married as par Muslim traditions in a 'niqaah' ceremony.

We met about a year ago and I proposed to her the beginning of this month, Junaid told news agency ANI. He added that while the couple wishes to be accepted by his family, they will stay together even if his family does not approve of their union. "I love her a lot and I will always keep her happy," said Junaid. The bride also told the news agency that she hopes Junaid's parents will accept her one day and she gets to serve her in-laws.

Meanwhile, a couple who went missing in Hyderabad after they were forcefully married by members of a fringe group was located by police after a 20-hour-long search operation. A video of the boy being made to put a 'mangalsutra' around the girl's neck went viral on social media. The same fringe group also burnt effigies of Roman Saint Valentine as a mark of protest against February 14 celebrated as Valentine's Day.
