Maharashtra: Class 10 student commits suicide; distraught mother ends life too

A 16-year-old boy from Satara, Maharashtra, committed suicide by hanging himself just weeks before his Class 10 exams. Upon finding out about this, his mother also ended her life out of sheer grief and shock.

Satara: In a tragic incident reported from Pimpode Budruk in Satara, Maharashtra, a 16-year-old boy committed suicide by hanging himself just weeks before his Class 10 examination. Upon finding out about this, his mother also ended her life out of sheer grief and shock. 

The double suicide has caused mourning in the whole village. According to reports, the boy did not return to his in the night and his father went looking for him upon finding it out. Despite searching for him throughout the village, the boy remained undetected. Dejected, his father went at the spot where he kept his cattle and what he saw there shocked him to the core.

He saw his son hanging a nearby tree. He immediately shouted out to his relative who lived nearby.

The two then took the boy down from the tree and took him to a government hospital nearby. However, it was too late by then and the boy was declared brought dead by the doctor at the hospital.

Meanwhile, as soon as the boy's mother came to know about this incident, it was a tremendous mental shock for her. Inconsolable, she tied a nylon rope around her neck and hanged herself too. When the man returned home, he was in for the shock of his life as in a period of less than 24 hours, he had lost both his wife and son.

Police are currently investigating the case further. However, no one has yet found any information about why the boy committed suicide. According to the information gathered, he was a student of Class 10 and his final examinations were due in a few months.
