Wales Air Ambulance medics will be shown providing lifesaving treatment to a student nurse who received a massive electric shock and a five-year-old boy who fell 20 foot through a farm shed roof in the latest episode of Helimeds.
The episode will also feature the Caernarfon crew treating 82-year-old former Cardiganshire MP Lord Elystan Morgan, who was taken ill at his Aberystwyth home while preparing to return to the House of Lords.
The missions will be shown on ITV Cymru Wales at 8pm on Monday, September 28 on Helimeds, where ITV News anchor Andrea Byrne meets the people behind the Wales Air Ambulance service and hears from patients who receive vital assistance in their hour of need.
In Monday’s episode, the air ambulance’s Caernarfon team will come to the rescue of five-year-old Wil Hughes (corr) from Abersoch, who fell 20 foot through a farm shed roof, hitting his head on a concrete floor.
To help keep Wil calm whilst receiving treatment, air ambulance paramedic Ian Thomas spoke to him in Welsh, his first language, before he was transported to Ysbyty Gwynedd with his mother Rhian.
And the air ambulance’s Swansea team will be shown treating 25-year-old student nurse James Lundregan, who was thrown from a ladder after being electrocuted while resetting a fuse box.
James, from Pontypridd, suffered a suspected bleed on the brain after the incident, and received emergency treatment from a consultant anaesthetist as his condition rapidly deteriorated.
