Potholes are popping up all over the city and residents are paying the price.

Over at Mr. P's Tires, Paul Lambrecht said he has seen an increase in customers coming in to repair damaged tires or rims.

"About a half a dozen people came in because of a pothole from one off-ramp," said Lambrecht.

Chantel Teague drives to the north side of Milwaukee daily for work, she said oftentimes she's swerving her car to avoid hitting the cracks in the ground.

"It's pretty crazy. Driving down capitol is really bad on the north side, said Teague.

According to DPW, around this time of year they normally receive 30 calls a day for potholes but within the last 6 days, they have received 285 calls.

"We are seeing a little bit of an increase in the frequency in the pothole reporting and our manners to address them," said Brian.

The increase in potholes are due to the extreme fluctuating temperatures.
