Football:

Coach Taggart is very pleased with the state of his football team as FSU returns to Tallahassee from Bradenton.

ESPN ranked the top 150 programs of all-time rankings Florida State 19th; I don’t agree with that simply because I don’t acknowledge national championships that were won before the advent of the color television.

They did get one thing right because FSU is ahead of Florida.

PFF College says that James Blackman is the best QB in the state of Florida.

Florida may be playing Miami a week from tomorrow but according to SportsIllustrated the only top ten intrastate rivalry of all-time is Florida State vs. Miami.

Two pioneers of football, Derrick Brooks & Tony Dungy spoke to FSU Football down in Bradenton.

Recruiting:

Rivals.com updated its rivals250 & positional rankings and some FSU commitments received some healthy bumps.

Florida State saw it’s quarterback commit Jeffrey Simms crack the Rivals250 while massive linebacker Keyshawn Greene made his way from outside the rankings to No. 227. Still, the biggest move for any Seminoles pledge was that of Demorie Tate. A long, rangy cornerback with impressive coverage skills, Tate was a four-star outside the Rivals250 last time around but now finds himself ranked No. 66 in the country.

With the updated rankings FSU now has the top class in the state on Rivals and 247Sports.

Lamarcus Joyner fresh off a healthy new contract in Oakland is giving FSU fans flashbacks:

Getting down to the nitty gritty in our top 100 countdown series; No. 16 is another defensive-end: Reinard Wilson.

The history of edge-rushers in this program is as good as it gets.
