When it comes to dressing for a video call, there's only so much you can do to liven up your outfit, given that only half of your body can be visible onscreen at a time. For her part, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, zeroed into the sparkle a statement earring can add to her quarantine style, and she's leaning in hard. Here, we take a look at the earrings she's showcased on Zoom, from a pair inspired by ferns to a dainty set of silver hoops.
When the Cambridges marked the one-year anniversary of the Shout crisis text line with a video call, Kate pulled her hair back, showing off a pair of golden fern-shaped earrings, which are from designer Catherine Zoraida.
Ever an outfit repeater, Kate also appeared to wear her nature-inspired Catherine Zoraida earrings while being interviewed on the British TV show This Morning about the launch of Hold Still, her photography initiative focused on capturing the UK's mood during the coronavirus crisis.
She also wore them while chatting with students and staff at schools staying open to support the children of essential workers. The elegant pair went well with a vibrant mustard-colored sweater from Zara.
Kate wore two different outfits while chatting with midwives and the parents of a newborn. The Duchess accessorized one of the looks with a pair of small hoops, which are reportedly from Daniella Draper (though missing their shamrock charm).
In Kate's second ensemble for the call with the midwives, she paired a floral blue Boden dress with Patrick Mavros Ocean Tides Milky Quartz Earrings.
They're a bit more difficult to see here, but Kate also wore her Patrick Mavros Ocean Tides Milky Quartz Earrings in a video message about Mental Health Awareness Week.
And they appeared again during the royal family's video tribute to nurses who are on the front lines, fighting COVID-19. This time, the statement jewels were matched with a pretty Alutzarra polka dot dress.
