CHANDIGARH:Diplomas and advanced diplomas were awarded to students of Indo-Swiss Training Centre (ISTC) during its 53rd convocation held at the Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO) here on Tuesday.

Diplomas and advanced diplomas were awarded to  students of  Indo-Swiss Training Centre (ISTC) during its 53rd convocation held at the Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO) here on Tuesday.

Delivering the convocation address, Dr PJ Singh, Managing Director, Tynor Orthodotics Private Limited, Mohali, said students of ISTC were instrumental in the growth of industry not only in Punjab, but in other parts of the country as well as foreign countries. He advised the students to be continuous learners and develop EQ along with IQ.

Prof RK Sinha, Director CSIO, highlighted the activities of the ISTC. He said with the newly inducted teaching faculty, ISTC was poised to reach new horizons and proposals were being received to mentor ISTC type institutions across the country as well as abroad.

He said for imparting skill education, policy planners should note that state-of-the-art infrastructure and recruitment of young, dynamic and experienced instructors with flair of imparting hands-on training in an effective way was required.

Mridul Basist won gold medal, while Manish bagged silver medal in three-year diploma in mechanical engineering (Tool and Die). Baljeet Singh Ubhi won gold medal, while Devansh Atray bagged silver medal in three-year-diploma in electronics engineering. Kumar Ravi Kant won gold medal, while Mohit bagged silver medal in one-year postgraduate diploma in CAD/CAM. Gunjan Nagpal bagged gold medal and Shreya Marwaha win silver medal in one-year postgraduate diploma in Mechatronics.
