CHANDIGARH:Karnataka defeated Chandigarh 17-5 in the boys’ category of the Junior National Seven Rugby Championship at the Panjab University here today.

Chandigarh, June 14 

Karnataka defeated Chandigarh 17-5 in the boys’ category of the Junior National Seven Rugby Championship at the Panjab University here today. 

In other matches, Maharashtra overpowered Andhra Pradesh 51-0, while Bihar blanked Kerala 31-0. West Bengal also recorded a 31-0 win against Telangana, while Delhi beat Uttar Pradesh 28-0. Tamil Nadu recorded a 17-10 win against Haryana, while Goa defeated Punjab 19-5. Earlier, in the first round matches, Maharashtra defeated Gujarat 21-0, Bihar overpowered Madhya Pradesh 26-5, Odisha defeated Jharkhand 17-5, West Bengal defeated Chhattisgarh 52-0 and Delhi blanked Chhattisgarh 15-0.

In the girls’ category, Madhya Pradesh overpowered Andhra Pradesh 10-0. Haryana beat Gujarat 25-0, while Punjab played out a 5-5 draw against Jammu & Kashmir. Chhattisgarh blanked Chandigarh 10-0. — TNS
