Panjab University to supervise process of vacating hostels

Chandigarh, April 23

The Panjab University (PU) has decided to constitute a committee to supervise the process of vacating hostels after the UT Administration had requested to turn girls’ hostel number 8, 9, 10 and International Hostel into Covid- 19 isolation units. A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prof Shankarji Jha, Dean of University Instructions. It was decided that students can take their belongings by themselves or can take help of their local guardians/ relatives/ friends living in the tricity. The students should inform their respective hostel warden before April 26, said the PU spokesperson.

Meanwhile, the PU has requested the DC to issue curfew passes, which would facilitate residents/ guardians/relatives to visit hostels for collecting belongings of the students. — TNS
