CHANDIGARH: More than 900 students who recently passed out of Class X and XII with more than 85 per cent were felicitated during the third edition of ‘Edu Expo-2019’, which was organised by The Tribune, at Hotel Shivalikview in Sector 17 here today.

More than 900 students who recently passed out of Class X and XII with more than 85 per cent were felicitated during the third edition of ‘Edu Expo-2019’, which was organised by The Tribune, at Hotel Shivalikview in Sector 17 here today.

The inaugural day of the two-day expo featured 17 stalls of private universities, coaching institutes and immigration companies that showcased academic courses and career services being provided by them.

At the felicitation ceremony, students of 24 schools were honoured. An appreciation certificate was given to students, along with a momento. The Tribune has roped in former Panchkula DC and motivational speaker Vivek Atray for counselling sessions at the expo.

Shishu Niketan School, Sector 22; Sharda Sarvhitkari School; Ashiana Public School, Sector 46; Mount Carmel School, Sector 47; St Xavier’s School; Carmel Convent School; SD Public School; KBDAV School; Ryan International School; AKSIPS-41; St Joseph’s School; and Shivalik Public School marked their presence at the expo.

From Mohali, Yadvindra Public School, Gem Public School, Infant Jesus Convent School, DAV Public School and St Isher Singh Public School made it to the expo, along with St Stephens, Togan, and KV at Air Force High Grounds. From Panchkula, students of Satluj Public School, DC Model School, Bhavan Vidyalaya, St Xavier’s School and The British School were felicitated.

“I am glad that The Tribune is honouring students who have scored 85 per cent and above. This will act as a confidence booster for my child,” said Kiranjit Kaur, whose son was felicitated at the expo.

Among several stalls set up by institutes and immigration companies, officials at the Amity University front desk shared: “We are receiving a good response. Children have shown interest in the BBA and MBA courses available at our institute.”

From Touchstone, a representative said: “We have been getting queries about TOFEL and ILETS courses available at our institute. Most students have shown keen interest in moving abroad to pursue higher education.”
