The New Public School, Sector 18-B, Chandigarh, organised an inter-school semi-classical vocal competition. Several schools of the tricity participated in the competition.



The New Public School, Sector 18-B, Chandigarh, organised an inter-school semi-classical vocal competition. Several schools of the tricity participated in the competition. Hardeep Singh Batela, Senior Deputy Mayor, Chandigarh, presided over the function. Harnoor Singh of Saupin’s School, Chandigarh, won the 3rd prize and Samiksha Sufi of Sacred Heart School, Chandigarh, bagged the 2nd position. Pooja Negi of DAV, Sector 15, Chandigarh won the 1st prize.

Kids ‘R’ Kids, Chandigarh

Kids ‘R’ Kids School, Sector 42-C, organised a fancy dress competition under the theme ‘fruits and vegetables’. The competition was held with an objective of inculcating the habit of eating nutritious food and to bring out hidden talent in our tiny tots and instil confidence in them. Children showcased their talent by dressing up as various fruits and vegetables. Students were full of zeal and enthusiasm while presenting them.

Gurukul Global School, Chandigarh

To celebrate monsoon magic and beat the heat, a rain dance party was organised for LKG students at Gurukul Global School. Children wore colourful swimming costumes, danced and played games. President Neena Setya and Principal Urvashi Kakkar joined the splash pool party. 

Mount Carmel, Chandigarh

Fourteen out of 15 Mount Carmel School students emerged victorious in the 27th Chandigarh State Karate Championship organised by the Amateur Karate Association of Chandigarh at Gharwal Bhawan, Chandigarh. The students won gold, silver and bronze medals. Principal Praveen John Singh congratulated the students. 

PML SD PUBLIC, Chandigarh

To mark the 20th Kargil Vijay Diwas, a card-making and drawing competition was organised by the Rotaract Club of Shivalik Rangers at PML SD Public School, Sector 32 Chandigarh.  Students made cards for soldiers and thanked them for protecting the country. Students were told about the importance of the day. All students actively participated in the competition and made beautiful cards. 

Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula

Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula, organised a welcome party.  Class XII students entertained the audience with mesmerising performances. Students of Class XI presented their talents in the first round which witnessed mind-blowing dances, poetry and music. The second round comprised interesting questioning by judges to pick Mr and Ms Fresher. Nimrat and Abir were crowned as ‘Ms Fresher’ and ‘Mr Fresher’,  respectively. 

St Soldier International, Mohali

St Soldier International Convent School, Phase 7, organised an orientation for parents to apprise them of exciting ventures initiated by the school for physical and mental growth of children. A dental check-up camp was also organised. Parents and students were informed about the two new programmes — ‘Fitness Strikers’ and ‘Roundglass’ — for the holistic development of students. 

Manav Mangal, Zirakpur 

A two-day workshop was organised at Manav Mangal Smart World, Zirakpur, to sharpen the public speaking skills of the students and give them an insight into the working of the United Nations.The workshop was conducted by trainers from SPCH Inc, Delhi, and was attended by students of Class IX and X. The trainers discussed various aspects of public speaking and working of the UN. Students were also educated about the procedures of United Nations and international relations. Aneela Kinder, Principal of the school, presided over the felicitation ceremony and honoured the trainers. TNS
