2 students chosen for Tokyo summit

Hisar: The Tokyo Agriculture University, Japan, has invited two students of the Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agriculture University, Hisar, to attend the 19th International Students Summit to be held from September 14 to 21. Sanny Maanju has been selected for oral presentation and Navdeep Godara has been selected for poster presentation. Vice-Chancellor Prof KP Singh said that he hoped that the students would perform well at the summit.

Documentary on mangal sen 

Rohtak: Two universities of Rohtak — Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) and State University of Performing and Visual Arts (SUPVA) — will jointly make a documentary on the role and contribution of the late BJP stalwart and former Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dr Mangal Sen. The Vice-Chancellor of MDU and SUPVA, Prof Rajbir Singh, said the documentary would be made under the aegis of the Dr Mangal Sen Research Chair at MDU in collaboration with SUPVA.

KU completes clerks’ Recruitment 

Kurukshetra: Reeling under shortage of staff, Kurukshetra University has completed the recruitment process of 195 clerks. Over 165 clerks have already joined duty last week. Vice-Chancellor Dr Kailash Chandra Sharma said that recruitment of non-teaching positions on such a large scale has happened after almost three decades. He gave the credit for achieving such a task with transparency to the state government as there was no interference from it. Over 40,000 applications were received for 195 posts. Applicants appeared in typing test and written exam and were selected solely on the basis of their performance. He said that once the green signal is received from the government, recruitment of teachers would also be done with transparency.

Instrumentation lab opens 

Rohtak: Prof Rajbir Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), inaugurated the newly-constructed Aryabhata Central Instrumentation Laboratory (CIL) built at the cost of Rs 3.25 crore under the Rashtriya Ucchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) grant in the university. “This modern centralised laboratory will boost the research work of faculty members and research scholars while latest scientific instruments and modern machinery will also provide cutting-edge skills to research work,” said Rajbir Singh. Prof Arun Nanda, Director of the CIL, informed this new facility would add wings to research activities in the university. “The new CIL building built on covered area of 2,450 sq m has the provision of 10 big labs, eight small labs, director’s office, staff office, and conference hall,” he added.
