21 more test positive for coronavirus in Ludhiana

As many as 21 patients from Ludhiana and one from Delhi tested positive for Covid today.

Morning reports

In the reports received from the GMC, Patiala, today morning, six positive cases were confirmed. These six cases are contacts of positive cases, according to District Epidemiologist, Dr Ramesh. These include one patient from Meharban village and four from Baupur village in Ludhiana. All the four positive cases from Baupur, whose reports came today morning, are contacts of a positive patient, who came back from Manesar. The Baupur village cases, include 57-year-old female, 14-year-old male, five-year-old male and 24-year-old male. The Meharban case is the contact of a positive patient from Chhawani Mohalla in Ludhiana.

A two-year-old girl, who has been found Covid positive is daughter of the doctor couple, who were earlier found suffering from the disease.

Pay fine for not wearing mask

The Civil Surgeon, Dr Rajesh Kumar Bagga, has informed, “As per the directions of the Punjab Government, any person not wearing mask will be fined Rs500. If any bus owner, car owner or auto-rickshaw/two-wheeler owner does not follow social distancing rules, then they will be fined Rs3,000, Rs2,000 and Rs500, respectively. Any person breaking home quarantine rules will be fined Rs2,000. Anyone spitting in the public place will be fined Rs500.”

Evening reports

In the evening, 55 pending reports were received from the GMC, Patiala. In all 16 persons, including one from Delhi, tested positive. Now, the total number of Covid-positive patients from Ludhiana is 224. This tally excludes the 34-year-old male from Delhi, who was tested at the Sahnewal airport, and hsi report came Covid positive today evening.

Among those reported positive today evening, include a 52-year-old male and 43-year-old female, both from Madhapuri in Ludhiana. A 44-year-old male from Jalajan village, a contact of the doctor couple from Khanna, has also tested positive. Other positive patients include a 68-year-old male, a 66-year-old female and a 17-year-old female from Khanna, a contact of the doctor couple.

More positive cases were reported from Chhawni Mohalla today evening. These include a 43-year-old female, a 52-year-old male, a 21-year-old male, a 40-year-old male and a 13-year-old male. Also reported Covid-positive were a 38-year-old male, a 37-year-old female and a four-year-old female child from Model Town A 35-year-old male from Islam Ganj also tested positive.
