Ludhiana: Ashish (13) of Ambedkar Nagar is feared drowned in the Sidhwan Canal. According to the police, Ashish had tied a cloth to the railing of the Dugri Canal Bridge and jumped into the canal to take a bath.

Ludhiana: Ashish (13) of Ambedkar Nagar is feared drowned in the Sidhwan Canal. According to the police, Ashish had tied a cloth to the railing of the Dugri Canal Bridge and jumped into the canal to take a bath. Unfortunately, the cloth got torn and he was swept away by the current. The divers were deployed to search the boy. TNS

Farmer commits suicide  

Samrala: A farmer of Sehjo Majra village allegedly committed suicide by jumping into Sirhind Canal near Powat Bridge. Baljinder Singh, son of former Sarpanch Sarwan Singh, had been depressed for the past about three months and was under treatment. He reached the bridge at Powat village and jumped into the canal. Some persons tried to save him but he was swept away by the current. OC
