LUDHIANA: Mohali restricted Ludhiana to a modest total of 156 runs in the first innings on the opening day of the two-day match in the Inter-District (U-16) Cricket Tournament being played at GRD Academy on Hambran Road here on Saturday.

Mohali restricted Ludhiana to a modest total of 156 runs in the first innings on the opening day of the two-day match in the Inter-District (U-16) Cricket Tournament being played at GRD Academy on Hambran Road here on Saturday.

Batting first, Ludhiana was off to a shaky start, losing the wickets at regular intervals. Their first essay eventually culminated at 156 runs in 63 overs.

Only Sayyam Gambhir and Vansh Arora put up some resistance, chipping in with 30 and 38 runs, respectively.

For the visitors, Arjun Dhingra was the most successful bowler, claiming three wickets, while Sehajman Singh and Aarav Mahajan captured two wickets each. Raghuvar Narang and Himanshu Masih secured a piece each.

Mohali, too, had a bad start, losing two early wickets. At the draw of stumps, they were 35 for 2 after 14.2 overs.
