Migrant girl gang-raped by 4 men in Punjab

A 15-year-old girl from Bihar was allegedly gang-raped by four men of Phillaur village on Monday night.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Phillaur, Amrik Singh Chahal said the victim had planned to meet her boyfriend Rajeev, a resident of Phillaur, at a deserted place.

However, he conspired with three of his friends who also raped the girl.

The DSP said the three accused identified as Bunty, Amit alias Chetu, and Jatinder alias Joginder, reached the place when the girl and her boyfriend were in a compromising position. Then these three also raped the minor girl, he said.

The DSP said Amit, Rajeev, and Jatinder have been arrested under Section 376 of the IPC and POCSO Act today, while their fourth accomplice Bunty managed to escape.

The victim has been admitted in Phillaur Civil Hospital. Medical examination of the girl was conducted, said DSP Chahal.
