HENDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) – Shelters around the country, including in Henderson, hosted an “Empty the Shelters” pet adoption event Saturday.

The Humane Society of Henderson County struggled with overcrowding this summer.

Bissell sponsored the event and covered the bulk of adoption fees so they could be lowered to just $25.

We’re told more than a dozen animals found new homes.

Over 100 organizations in 26 states took part in this special adoption day.
