HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – A Sturgis, KY woman is accused of trying to bring meth into the Henderson County Jail.
Holly Howard is charged with promoting contraband, possession of contraband, and tampering with physical evidence.
On Friday around 10 p.m., Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force detectives and the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office arrested Howard when they say she was going to see her supplier.
When they searched Howard, they found a capped syringe in her hand that contained suspected meth. But no other drugs were located.
Later, detectives received information that Howard may have meth on her in the jail. Detectives requested an x-ray on Howard from the medical staff at the jail, which was conducted.
Howard was taken to Methodist Hospital for further examination and removal of an item from her body.
During that time, deputies say they found a wet plastic baggie tied in a knot in Howard’s clothing that had a white crystal substance, which field tested postiive for meth. Some other crystal substances were found in a water cup and on the floor where Howard was sitting.
Howard is being held on a $1,500 cash bond in the Henderson County Jail.
