TRURO, N.S.

A Halifax woman who pled guilty in provincial court in Truro to illegally transporting tobacco, has been fined a total of $1,700.

Judith Ann Harnish, 47, was charged last April in

Truro.

She also pled guilty to transporting unstamped tobacco.

Harnish was also placed on probation for 18 months.

A co-accused, William Gerard Hutton, 55, of Dartmouth pled guilty to possessing tobacco on which no tax had been paid and also to possessing unstamped tobacco.

Hutton is to be sentenced on Jan. 30.
