The streets of downtown Truro were packed with hundreds of excited children and families, welcoming a very special Christmas guest to kick off the holiday season.
Visitors enjoyed dozens of parade floats laid on by local businesses, while the children received plenty of candy. People in Truro also enjoyed a special Christmas-themed festive bazaar where the Farmers Market is usually held by Civic Square.
The parade started on Lorne and then trundled through the downtown core, taking in Queen, Prince and Espanade Streets in a loop back to its starting point.
This year's theme was 'Your Favourite Christmas Toy'.
