TRURO, N.S. – Dylan Blenkhorn’s pursuit for a Parts for Trucks Maritime Pro Stock Tour title will take him to River Glade, N.B. this weekend.
The Truro driver enters Saturday’s Cummins 200 at Petty International Raceway sitting atop the points standings. Blenkhorn holds a slim 14-point lead over Jonathan Hicken of Brudenell, P.E.I., while Jarrett Butcher of Porter’s Lake and Craig Slaunwhite of Terence Bay are locked in a battle for third.
Blenkhorn has earned a podium spot in six of nine races this season, including two wins, and hasn’t finished outside the top five. Blenkhorn is chasing his first championship. He finished second in 2018 and was third in 2015.
Saturday’s race marks the third and final trip of the season to River Glade and is the 10th race on the 12-round Maritime pro stock tour.
Grandstands for Saturday’s main event open at 4 p.m. Qualifying will take place at 6 p.m., with Atlantic Tiltload heat races.
Kicking off Saturday’s racing card will be the Leisure Days Bandoleros, Mr. Transmission Mini Stock and the Maritime League of Legends.
Tickets will be available at the gates (cash only). Admission is $35 for adults, $10 for youth (8-18 years); children 7 and under are free.
