The Boys and Girls Clubs of West Alabama's board of directors were named High Performing Board Team of the Year during the Boys and Girls Clubs of Alabama Area Council conference held Friday.

Other Tuscaloosa honorees included Randy Charles, who was named Board Member of the Year for the state, and Randall-Reilly, which was recognized with a Children Are Reason for Excellence.

“Randy’s involvement in the community, his genuine personality and his skills combined with his passion for the club has made him an asset that cannot be replaced,” said Kim Turner, CEO of the Boys and Girls Clubs of West Alabama.

Charles, a board member and former chair, was recognized for his commitment to providing resources and developing staff and programs to improve the club experience for local youth.

He has been a member of the board for 10 years and served as chair in 2016 and 2017. He continues to serve on the executive committee and as chair of the human resources committee.

Since 2003, Randall-Reilly employees have given more than $150,000 to the organization, with donations exceeding $24,000 in 2017 alone. Randall-Reilly is Boys & Girls Clubs of West Alabama’s single largest corporate contributor.
