Former East Ridge running back Dominik London picked North Dakota as his transfer destination Friday.

After zero carries in two seasons with the Gophers, London tweeted that he’s “excited to start a new chapter.”

“I first want to thank the coaches at the University of Minnesota for everything they have done for me and I’m very appreciate of them!” London wrote. “But after a lot of schools (gave) me their pitch, there was one that took my attention right away.”

At UND, London follows former U running back James Johannesson, a Fargo native who left Minnesota before the 2017 season. Johannesson was second on the team in rushing in 2018 with 646 yards and four rushing touchdowns.

London, who is 5 foot 9 and 205 pounds, had committed to the Gophers’ previous coaching staff, and his spot was honored by current head coach P.J. Fleck when he was hired in January 2017. London redshirted in 2017 and did not play this season.

London rushed for 3,916 yards and 41 touchdowns at East Ridge High School in Woodbury. Besides the U, his only other scholarship offer was from South Dakota State, according to 247sports.com.
