A charging decision was pushed back a day regarding the man suspected of fatally shooting a mother and daughter inside a Minneapolis apartment over the weekend, authorities say.

On Monday police arrested a suspect in the double-homicide of Eileen Mark and her daughter Jennifer Angerhofer, a Coon Rapids mother of three children.

The man in custody is Mark’s neighbor, Richie Lee Vessel, according to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office.

While prosecutors previously expected to reach a decision on charging Vessel by noon Wednesday, the office secured a 24-hour extension. Officials now have until Thursday afternoon to reach a decision.

Minneapolis police spokesman John Elder said Wednesday that police have “no indication (Vessel and Mark had) any relationship other than (as) neighbors.”

Vessel, 46, is being held at the Hennepin County Detention Center.

Mark, 67, and Angerhofer, 42, were found slain in Mark’s apartment in the 300 block of Second Avenue Southeast, just north of the Stone Arch Bridge in the Marcy-Holmes neighborhood.

They were shot to death about 10:30 p.m. Saturday. Mark died of a gunshot wound to the chest while Angerhofer died of a gunshot wound to the face and neck.
