The West St. Paul Sports Complex was vandalized by an unknown driver doing donuts in the soccer and football fields sometime between Friday night and Monday morning.
Divots in the wet grass were created by the donuts, causing an estimated $4,000 in damages.
No evidence has been uncovered that would suggest a potential suspect, but the city is investing in additional security cameras and a fiber-optic communication line between the complex and City Hall.
“The city is planning more security to… find and combat these offenses,” West St. Paul police Lt. Brian Sturgeon said.
This is the second donut vandalism of a Dakota County park in recent weeks. Two Hastings men were charged March 29 for extensive damage to the Veterans Athletic Complex soccer fields in that city.
The city of West Saint Paul asks that anyone with information regarding the vandalism please contact social@wspmn.gov or submit an anonymous tip.
