Grammy-winning indie rock band Bon Iver will headline St. Paul’s Xcel Energy Center on Oct. 3.

Tickets go on sale at noon Friday through Ticketmaster, although the venue did not announce prices. Canadian singer/songwriter Feist (“1234”) opens.

Eau Claire, Wis., native Justin Vernon founded the group in 2006 and earned acclaim for the album “For Emma, Forever Ago,” which Vernon spent three months recording in a secluded Wisconsin cabin. The follow-up, 2011’s “Bon Iver, Bon Iver,” earned Vernon four Grammy nominations and wins for best new artist and best alternative album.

But instead of taking advantage of that new visibility, Vernon put Bon Iver on ice and focused on other projects. The group re-emerged in 2015 to headline the Eaux Claires Music Festival in Eau Claire, an event founded by Vernon and Aaron Dessner of the National. It continued through last summer, although Vernon and Dessner chose to take 2019 off and plan to relaunch the festival next year in a new format at a different location.

In the Twin Cities, Bon Iver played a pair of shows at Minneapolis’ Orpheum Theatre in 2011, headlined Rock the Garden in 2017 and participated in a four-night residency at St. Paul’s Palace Theatre last year in a collaboration with TU Dance.

On Monday, Bon Iver also released a pair of new songs, “Hey, Ma” and “U (Man Like),” the latter featuring Bruce Hornsby on piano and vocals.
