Gluten-free and vegan hot dog buns, pie crust, banana bread, bars and cookies: Those are among the offerings at a new gluten-free, vegan bakery that has set up shop in a tiny house in St. Paul.

Innate Bakery is now open featuring 100 percent gluten-free vegan and celiac-friendly items.

Following the success of her vegan pop-up events, Laura Ford decided to open a brick-and-mortar spot in a home off Ivy Avenue just a few blocks east of White Bear Avenue North that once housed a barbershop.

The bakery falls under Minnesota’s Cottage Food Law, formerly known as the “non-potentially hazardous foods section” and “the pickle bill,” which allow certain food items such as baked goods to be made out of a home as long as they meet certain requirements.

The spot is open three days a week, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
