A man was shot and killed Sunday afternoon in the common area of an apartment building in the 1900 block of 1st Avenue South in Minneapolis, according to police spokesman John Elder.
Officers responding to reports of shots fired found the man shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday. The shooting does not appear to be a random act of violence, Elder said.
Investigators have interviewed people at the scene and are following up on leads.
