Local restaurant chain Leeann Chin has closed in the downtown St. Paul skyway. At the same time, it looks like the fast-casual restaurant has plans to expand elsewhere.

The skyway location in the Alliance Bank building food court now sits empty and the restaurant’s website no longer lists that location.

According to the website, a location at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport recently opened and another is being prepared to open at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Founder Leann Chin opened her namesake dine-in or take-out fast-casual Asian restaurant in Minneapolis in 1980, and things grew from there. According to the website (leeannchin.com), there are more than 50 locations across the country including several in the metro. Outposts include Highland, Midway and Sunray Center in St. Paul as well as West St. Paul, Woodbury, Maplewood, White Bear Lake, Apple Valley, Eagan and Burnsville.
