Manchester United’s first Premier League game when the competition resumes will be held on Friday June 19, report The Times.
United will visit Tottenham Hotspur, in a game which has been selected for Sky Sports’ Friday night television coverage.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a fully fit squad to choose from, which means he has tough decisions ahead.
Here is a look at the four big selection dilemmas he and his coaching staff face for the fixture…
Centre-back
Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof were forging a near impenetrable partnership before the season was halted.
Yet Eric Bailly was also coming into form and did not concede a goal in any of his five appearances.
The break has given Bailly extra time to get up to speed, and his physicality could be needed up against Spurs forward Harry Kane.
Lindelof is most likely to play, but Bailly has a chance, while playing with three centre-backs is another option United may go with.
Left-back
One of the toughest decisions facing Solskjaer is whether to pick Luke Shaw or Brandon Williams.
Shaw is the safer choice, and he was hitting form before the break, but Williams has been a breath of fresh air in his breakout season and he has not let United down yet.
Williams offers a more ambitious attacking outlet down the left side, and combined with Marcus Rashford, he could pose Tottenham real problems.
Midfield
United have to somehow fit five players into three spots here. Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Fred, Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic are all available.
A combination of Matic, Pogba and Fernandes may offer the best balance, but they have not played together yet, and this is a huge fixture.
It may be in United’s plans to start either McTominay or Fred, and bring Pogba off the bench.
Being spoiled for choice is a good thing, and United will need all five midfielders over the upcoming weeks, but this is one game United really have to get right.
Right-wing
The right wing is United’s weak spot, with options including Dan James, Tahith Chong, Andreas Pereira, and Juan Mata.
Mason Greenwood is the most ambitious option of them all, and the dangerman who Tottenham may struggle to keep quiet.
It is most likely United go with James for this away fixture, and hope he can help expose Spurs on the break.
United could erase this dilemma if Solskjaer goes with a 3-4-1-2 formation, as he has done in several away games this season.
