DC, Indy and NYC restaurants are serving up discounted meals
August is a good time to make reservations for that neighborhood restaurant your friends have been talking about.
Restaurants in cities across the country, including New York, Washington, Miami and Raleigh, N.C., are hosting restaurant weeks, offering affordable two- or three-course lunches and dinners. These restaurant events – some of which last all month – make it easy for diners and travelers to experience new cuisines, explore the latest dining trends and/or revisit a favorite spot.
Metropolitan Washington Restaurant Week, which runs from Aug. 13-19, offers three-course lunches for $22 and dinner menus starting at $35. The event organized by the Restaurant Association of Metro Washington features more than 200 restaurants in the Capitol and surrounding suburbs. New York Restaurant Week has nearly 400 participating restaurants serving up deals through Aug. 17.
Pro-tip: Because the meals are discounted, you might want to tip your server a little extra. And if you go, take a picture of your meal and tag us with #usatodayeats.
