Aerosmith and New Kids on the Block to play hometown concerts at Boston's Fenway Park

Aerosmith and New Kids on the Block are both planning milestone concerts this fall in Boston.

The back-to-back concerts, both at Fenway Park in September, are set to celebrate two of Boston's biggest hometown bands.

Aerosmith will perform Sept. 18 for a celebration performance in honor of their 50th anniversary. The band recently made headlines over being honored at the 2020 MusiCares Person of the Year gala, where a court order barred founding member Joey Kramer from reclaiming his spot for the honor.

"The #BadBoysofBoston are coming home!" the official Aerosmith Twitter account announced Monday.

New Kids on the Block will perform what's likely to be its only show of 2020 on Sept. 19. The show promises special guests Bell Biv DeVoe and more "epic performances and surprises.

“To be playing in Boston with these legendary artists, in this sacred venue, is an honor. We’ll be pulling out all the stops to create a celebration unlike anything our city has ever seen,” New Kids on the Block's Donnie Wahlberg said in a news release.

General public tickets for both shows go on sale Friday – Aerosmith at 10 a.m. EST and New Kids on the Block at noon.

Aerosmith also continues its Las Vegas residency this year, with 15 performances scheduled between Jan. 29 and June 4. They're also set to tour Europe.
