One of the nation's highest profile remaining uncommitted four-star football prospects made his college decision Tuesday night. In this case, he's not following in his father's footsteps, either.

Shilo Sanders, a four-star defensive back and Under Armour All-American from Cedar Hill (Texas) Trinity Christian School, announced his commitment to South Carolina in a video he released on Twitter. The video interwove Sanders' high school highlights with footage of him walking toward South Carolina's Williams-Brice Stadium and in the Gamecocks' locker room.

Sanders picked South Carolina over 14 other scholarship offers, including other perceived finalists such as his father's alma mater, Florida State and Colorado State, as well as traditional powers such as Georgia, Tennessee, Oregon and Nebraska.

Sanders first took an official visit to Columbia in October but made a surprise return to campus just last weekend. That sparked discussion of a potential commitment, and it came Tuesday.

While some may be surprised that the younger Sanders ignored his father's Seminoles roots, there is still a direct connection to Deion in the form of his sneaker endorsement; the elder Sanders is a notably high profile Under Armour athlete, even in his retirement, and South Carolina is an Under Armour sponsored school, as is Trinity Christian.
